Hot Yoga

The benefits of a regular yoga practice are magnified! Cape Fear Yoga and Wellness Center features Far Infrared Radiant (FIR) Yoga Panels which allows the practitioners to experience not only the amazing benefits of yoga but also offers them the added benefit of Far Infrared Heat Therapy. This type of sauna uses the same type of “radiant” energy the sun produces. (In fact, some evidence indicates it heals sun damage on the skin, including diminishing wrinkles and fine lines.) This heat penetrates deeper into the body than traditional heating methods, promoting increased flexibility, detoxification, and relaxation. Practicing yoga in this environment can be challenging but invigorating and deeply satisfying. Staying hydrated and listening to your body during class is essential to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. 

  1. Hydrate: Drink plenty of water before, during, and after class to stay hydrated.

  2. Dress appropriately: Wear lightweight and breathable clothing that will wick away sweat. Avoid cotton as it will become heavy and uncomfortable when wet.

  3. Register: You must register the night before the scheduled class!

  4. Arrive early: Arrive at least 10-15 minutes before class starts to set up your mat, get settled, and acclimate to the heat.

  5. Listen to your body: Pay attention to your body's signals and take breaks or modify poses as needed. Don't push yourself too hard, especially if you're new to hot yoga.

  6. Respect others: Avoid talking or disturbing others during class. Keep noise to a minimum and be mindful of others' space.

  7. Clean up after yourself: Wipe down your mat and any equipment you use after class.

  8. Avoid eating a heavy meal before class: It's best to practice on an empty stomach or eat a light snack at least an hour before class.

Following these rules can help ensure a safe and enjoyable hot yoga practice for you and your fellow students.
